Meet Sameet

In 2021, I was looking for a new break and updating my availability on job networking websites. A call from the recruiter showcased that the role suited the profile I was looking for. A quick interview, a few technical/managerial rounds, and a smooth recruitment process got me my ticket to join the NetServ family.

My desk essentials are headphones, a pen, a laptop docking station, a coffee mug, and my Diary.

The pantry holds a list of snacks, munchies, flavored tea, and coffee. My favorites are the cornflakes snack mix, bread toast with butter and cheese spread, and banana wafers with a small shot of coffee.

I wanted to be a fighter pilot or an astronaut when I was a kid. I was unsure if the adrenaline or the touch of technology pulled me towards it.

My career journey till now.

Born in Mumbai, I belonged to a family with a Commerce background. This led to my encouragement, and I pursued my major in Commerce and Accounts at Mumbai University. I was good at academics and started my career as a Junior Accountant in 2000.

I should say it was destiny that introduced me to IT. Soon I discovered I was more passionate about computers. My inquisitive nature towards technology led to my habit of sticking around with the AMC guys, which helped me to learn Desktop support.

My next job shifted me from accounting to a Data Processing role. We moved all processes from books to computers and set up a good office network with LAN/WAN connectivity.

Yes, I had made up my mind by this time 7 years after my college graduation, I started studying again. I was almost through my MCSE certification course when I got an opportunity with a renowned Telecom company.

It was a crucial decision. I trusted my instincts, stepped back from my role as an Assistant Manager, and started fresh again as a Junior Network Engineer for Data Center operations. I completed my MCSA and CCNA certifications, which enabled me to the better handle LAN/WAN/Security network devices my team managed.

Knock, knock, Pune calling. In the year 2012, we had our 2nd daughter. I bid farewell to Mumbai and joined an MSP as a Lead Engineer to support the 24×7 operations with a focus on network/security for Layer 7 Application Content Delivery.

Time circled back. My instincts proved me correct. A few years later, I joined again as an Assistant Manager with a leading global Cybersecurity organization. I led a strong team managing Core Network Infrastructure & Security services.

Fast-forward to 2021, I joined NetServ as an Operations Delivery Manager. I lead a solid and talented team to support the 24×7 operations for Data Network and Telecom services globally for 1 of our US-based clients. We support Wired and Wireless networks hosted On-Premise & Cloud solutions. The voice team manages the Unified Communications and Cloud-based VoIP solutions for Call Centre in NLAM, EMEA and APAC regions.

I play a pivotal role in improving the SLA & KPI metrics with better CSAT ratings, and also ensure the systems are healthy and uptime is good. I employ a result-driven approach, empathetic leadership style, and significant technical expertise aligned with extensive IT Service Delivery & Business Relationship Management success.

This brings me to my current role as a Service Delivery Manager

Some highlights from my time here at Netserv

Being in 24×7 Operations, things run at high speed and high volume. The team is always enthusiastic about improving existing processes and building new ones – while offering customers the best possible user experience. The Company is technology driven and always welcomes and supports new initiatives.

My favorite aspects of working here.

We focus on learning and self-development, which keeps us updated on the latest practices and technologies. The higher Management is always approachable and guides us from time to time. I also like the flexibility to work from home and the office, which allows me to manage stakeholders in multiple time zones and maintain my work-life balance.

The most important things that I’ve learned in my career so far.

  •  Be humble always, and never let the. breeze take you high
  •   Learn to invest in people, and they are good assets. Manage them well.
  •  Change is important in life; you need to change if something you try is not working.
  •  They say you sow as you reap, but it is more important to remember that 1st, you need to sow
  • Craziest thing I’ve ever done in a job.

  • Working on an escalation for 37 hours at a stretch in the office (and without sleep ).
  • I got an award from the CIO for successful Slack integration POC, which I developed with my Intern in 2 weeks.
  •

What I like to do outside of work.

I am not into formal book reading, but I like to scavenge on to anything I pick a topic on-screen, especially science, medicine, and technology. Last few years, there has been an addition to reading more about management stuff to enhance my skills, including process improvisation and stakeholder management. I also like to work out regularly at my customized home gym and spend time with my lovely family.
